In this manner, you will be able to make sure you get only the freshest and healthiest ingredients in your dessert.</p>
<p> But you might get to thinking: how can something with no sugar still be sweet?   That is because of artificial sweeteners.   These sugar and honey alternatives have zero calories and zero carbohydrates. They usually taste just like sugar, especially in baked goods.  There are a large selection of different artificial sweeteners available now.   I personally like using sucralose, which is the main ingredient in Splenda.   Its taste perfectly mimics that of sugar and using it is no hardship, either.  It is safe, as proven by the lack of substantiated health issues related to it. It shouldn&#8217;t come as a surprise, considering it shares very similar chemical structure with sugar.</p>
<p> Flour cannot be used in baking low carb desserts; that is why there is a need for a few different ingredients.  Common alternatives to flour are flaxseed meal and coconut flour.  Coconut is great for low carb dieters.   It contains healthy fats, low carbs and tastes great!   You will often see low carb baking recipes having coconut milk and desiccated coconut in its lists of ingredients.   Similarly, another good and healthy addition to your baked goodies are nuts.  In fact, there are some cookies that are made from peanut or almond butter. </p>
